Scribbles
Wow I suck at updating this blog....
Anyway, for the last 6 or 7 years I have been trying to clean up my linework when I draw which I have been failing at, I think I am too uptight when I draw which is actually making my linework worse instead of better so I decided to go the complete opposite direction and draw extremely loose..and if I can ever remember to use my non-photo blue pencils this loose style might actually help my linework to get tighter...I will try to update this blog atleast once a month from now on....maybe I'll post some videos of me drawing or something..

Internet censorship
I am shocked by the number of bills congress is attempting to pass to censor the Internet and the media. The united states was built on checks and balances and freedom of speech is one of the key aspects of our checks and balances against misuse of power by the three branches of the government.
I am not normally very political but this is to moronic display of power congress does not have with the egging on by large corperations and it needs to stop. Its like they want us to revolt!
something the large corperations fail to realize is that they lock down the internet like they want to and they will lose not only the business of current customers but also all the free advertisement they get from fans of their product with they would cut off as well...they will lose billions and they will deserve it.

Rum Cake...catch yourself a pirate
I promised a few people I would put this up. this is the Rum cake recipe I use, enjoy:
Basic Cake Mix
2 cups cake flour
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter, cut into bits
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
For the Cake
1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
1 (3 1/2 ounce) package vanilla instant pudding mix
1/2 cup milk
4 eggs
1/2 cup whaler vanilla rum (Hawaiian-style rum)
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Rum soaking Glaze
1/2 cup butter (do not substitute)
1/4 cup water
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup whaler vanilla rum (Hawaiian-style rum)
Directions:
Prep Time: 45 Mins
Total Time: 1 3/4 hrs
1 Basic Cake Mix: In a large mixing bowl, combine basic cake mix ingredients.
2 On low speed combine ingredients until the mix is the consistency of fine gravel, and all particles are about the same size.
3 This mix may be contained and stored for up to 3 months in the refrigerator.
4 For the Cake:.
5 Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
6 Spray a large Bunt pan (12 cup) with nonstick cooking spray.
7 Sprinkle the chopped walnuts on the bottom.
8 Place Basic Cake Mix, pudding mix, milk, eggs, rum, oil, and vanilla extract in a large bowl and combine on medium speed with electric mixer for 2 to 3 minutes, scrape down the bowl halfway through.
9 Batter should be very smooth.
10 Pour into Bunt pan.
11 Bake for about 55 minutes- until fully golden and tester comes out clean and cake springs back.
12 Remove from oven and place on a cooling rack while making the soaking glaze.
13 Rum Soaking Glaze:.
14 Combine butter, water and sugar in a small saucepan.
15 Bring to a boil carefully as mixture boils over very easily.
16 Reduce to a simmer and cook until sugar is dissolved and syrup is well combined and a little thicker.
17 Remove from the heat and add the rum, mix to combine.
18 While cake is still cooling, pour some of the hot syrup on top of the cake, allowing it time to soak in (this may take a few minutes as there will be a lot of syrup) continue to add syrup until all of the syrup is added.
19 Allow cake to cool completely in pan before turning out onto serving platter.
20 This cake is delicate, so once it is turned out, it can not be moved around easily.
21 Can be eaten when fully cool, but even better the next day!

Surreality (Part 22)
I sure if anyone read this blog and liked my story... there would be excitement about me finally continuing it... they might even like the fact that this update it like three times bigger then previous updates. But as no one reads this and probably no one likes my story, so I shant be expecting that^^ anyhoo enjoy the story and expect more soonish as the writting bug has bit me again.....
The massive wobble my ship suddenly preformed reminded me of a detail that Tamas had mentioned earlier, about the fact that their ship was still being pursued by a Draconian fleet. With this information currently in the forefront of my consciousness I decided it was time my ship went elsewhere, so I ordered the ship to find the third star to the right and go as fast as possible in the other direction, adding that the ship could make random detours whenever it felt like it, which turned out to be an exceptionally frequent occurrence. Tamas and his crew were not agreeable to my “fly around randomly till we lose them” method of flying, Minaroro didn’t seem inclined to comment on it and instead took a nap in her cell, so I was left to explain to them the benefits of flying like a drunk maniac. “You see, they can’t track our course if we don’t have one”
I explained brightly as we headed for the bridge. “And what if we “randomly” fly right into a trap?” Tamas’s second in command, Yaholo, pointed out as we entered the bridge.
I must say the sheer size of the Draconian fleet that was present on the display screen reminded me of the first time I looked at the Milky Way. “Well, we won’t have to worry about flying into a trap.” I pointed out after a few moments of staring at our impending doom. “Ship quickly evasive maneuvers get us out of here” Tamas said calmly despite his body conveying a sense of urgency. “Now, now hold on one minute there old boy” I said putting my hand on his shoulder “This is my ship I’m the one who gets to give it orders, besides it has just occurred to me that the Draconians are hunting your old ship and most likely have no interest in my ship.” With that I turned to the screen that floats around the bridge and asked the computer to give the Dracoinains a ring as I wished to talk to them. Tamas and his crew attempted to talk me out of this course of action, unfortunately for them they all tried at the same time which took something from their argument and when they tried to talk me out of it individually they were interrupted by the computers cheerful declaration that the Death Bringer of the Draconian fleet was in no mood to talk to inferior beings and that we better make it quick as she had more pressing concerns and that if we didn’t hurry she would vaporize us.
The woman who appeared on my floating screen bore a mild resemblance to Minaroro but her face had three very large scars that started above her right eye and ended on the left side of her neck, it looked like she had been mauled by a large beast but the scars looked just as slow and deliberate as they did on Minaroro, I have suspicions they were there as proof of her rank. “Hello, I’m new in this part of the galaxy and its laws so I was wondering if I was trespassing in your territory?” the Death Bringer seemed mildly curious as to the reason I showed no fear of her but did not question me about it instead she smiled, Tamas and his crew shuddered. “No you are not trespassing, no one can own deep space you are free to travel as you like only when you enter solar systems must you ask permission. I would like to know if you have seen any other ships pass this way recently?” the Death Bringer asked sweetly, the tone of her voice reminded me the villains in movies when they were trying to be nice. “I passed a freighter a few days ago but that’s the only ship I’ve passed lately, sorry”. The Death Bringer looked me over for a few seconds then cut the transmission, the computer then informed me that the Draconian fleet was moving passed us. “How did you do that? Draconians can sense when a person is lying” Yaholo asked in disbelief. “I didn’t lie, the freighter WAS the only ship I’ve passed lately” I said with a shrug. “But…I…we…ooooh” Yaholo realized that their ship had never actually “passed” mine, after that she began looking at me with a disturbingly large amount of admiration, Tamas just chuckled.
“So then, where would you like me to drop you off?” I inquired after the Draconian fleet left my ships sensor range. “We have to rendezvous with one of our agents in the Xantares system to get new orders from high command, can you take us there?” Tamas asked idly as he tried to grab the screen that was floating just outside his reach. “Computer could you please take us to the Xantares system” I requested as my stomach informed me of its desire for sustenance, thusly informed about my poor stomachs suffering I ventured off to the galley to get some food, naturally I did not inform Tamas where I was going as I did not think it was necessary for the captain of a ship to tell her guests about all of her going-ons. While I was ravenously devouring a wonderfully toasted piece of toast, the ships computer was directing most of Tamas’s crew to their temporary sleep arrangements, except for Yaholo who was unfortunate enough to find the Habanera peppers that looked like raisins.
I figured since I was already in the galley I would bring Minaroro a slice of one of my favorite late night snacks, toast with butter and sugar sprinkled on top, and while there, maybe find out something about her.
When I entered Minaroro’s cell her body stiffed abruptly and she slowly looked me over as if trying to decide if I was an immediate threat to her and if so the best way to neutralize me, ignoring this I presented her with the toast I had brought her and pointlessly added that I had brought her a snack. Minaroro seemed unsure of how to respond to my offering and cautiously sniffed the toast then took a small bite, her eyes widened so slightly that I thought I had imagined it at first then her face returned to it’s normal emotionless state. “That was very good” Minaroro said several minutes after she had finished the snack I gave her, “Not to sound ungrateful but why would you bring your prisoner a treat?” Minaroro inquired with what seemed like a slightly confused curiosity, “Are you trying to pump me for information?” She continued without waiting for my answer, “I have no knowledge in regards to troop deployment or any sensitive information, so any attempts at interrogation will be pointless” the confidence in her voice gave me no reason to doubt her words, but as I was not there to interrogate her, I was indifferent to what she knew about her peoples military movements. “Actually”, I began “I could care less about your people or their war efforts, I actually came here because you interest me and I wish to learn more about you, as well as offer you a position on my crew if you‘d like” I was barely able to contain my laughter at the confused expression on her face once she heard this, although I was not sure why I added the last part, it had more or less slipped out on its own accord.
“You would let a Draconian become part of your crew?” Minaroro asked after a few minutes of awkward silence, I don’t know why but something about her seemed to make me want to constantly mess with her head. “Sure as long \as you don’t try to kill me in my sleep…or while I’m awake for that matter, I don’t see why I should mind.” this time I couldn’t stop the grin that broke through my defenses and spread across my face. She looked up at me, startled by my candor and then stared at my grin for a few seconds before smiling weakly in return. “well since your now part of my crew I can’t have you sleeping in this dump, although the ships computer did say this was our finest cell. So I will have your new quarters ready for you by tomorrow, I will leave the cell door unlocked , feel free to get a snack, get some sleep and try not to kill anyone, okay?” I had tried for a business like tone but ended up sounding a little to perky, I’m going to swear off hanging out with the ships computer for at least a week if this perkiness keeps up. Minaroro seemed less stressed after I said this though, most likely she was trying to figure out what to do with her life and my offer seemed to give her something. We spoke for about ten minutes more about whatever came to mind then I bid her good night, she seemed far more relaxed when I left her then I had seen her so far, I fell in to my lightly orange colored unconsciousness with a smile on my face.
The next morning started out nice, I had emerged from my state of conscious inactivity early and went to the galley and started making breakfast, a few minutes into my cooking I looked up to find Minaroro watching me, damn she is quiet, I greeted her and invited her to sit and I would make her my specialty; scrambled eggs with toast. We chatted for a while until the smell of my cooking had extracted Tamas and his crew from their slumber and lured them in to my galley. I must say that their reaction to Minaroros presence was less then diplomatic, one might even say rude, I was shocked how fast they managed to make their weapons appear and how Yaholo fit such a large firearm into the oversized t-shirt she was wearing as her pajamas. So given the circumstances I tried my hand at something I have had no experience with up until this point; trying to pacify a situation instead of making it worse. “first of all good morning all.” I felt I was off to a good start so far “I made breakfast for everyone.” they seemed to be relaxing slightly” Yaholo would you please not point your weapon at my new crew member.” at this point, I believe, is when instead of making the situation better I may have accidentally exacerbated it.
The silence that followed my revelation was broken when my ships computer announced that Minaroro was now added to the ships crew roster, this in my opinion was less helpful then what I said to try to calm things down. During all of this Tamas just looked amused, was there anything that man did not find amusing? “I’m not sure you can claim my prisoner for your crew without asking me” Tamas pointed out as he sat next to Minaroro and started serving himself some eggs. before I could respond to this the computer broke in with a statement that made Tamas nearly choke on his eggs “Actually according to interstellar salvage laws prisoners are classified as cargo, and any cargo recovered by a ship involved in a ship to ship collision when that ships is not responsible is legally that ships property, therefore as soon as your ship collided with this one your prisoner was no longer yours the ownership of said prisoner was transferred to Captain Birk.”
After that everyone put their guns away and while grumbling they sat down and started serving themselves food, Yaholo looked like she had just ate a bushel of lemons and Minaroro staunchly refused to look up from her plate, the rest of Tamas’s crew looked irritated and Tomas was blissfully enjoying his eggs and ignoring the lot of us. “Did everyone sleep well last night?” I’m fairly certain that the little part of my brain that knows when to shut up might be broken. The glares I got from Tamas’s crew informed me that I should have stayed silent. “I slept wonderfully thank you for asking, Captain” the ships computer replied brightly, this time everyone save Minaroro turned and glared at the speaker on the wall where the computers voice had come from, then Minaroro surprised us all by giggling softly.

Trapped at work!
Well since I am trapped at work and there is no one around to stop me I’m going to update this here blog, in order to keep all of you updated about my going-ons.
Last Sunday I attended my first ever warped tour, I had a blast! Except for forgetting to wear sunscreen and burning my poor face. Sadly I missed Anti-flag but I got to meet them and got their autograph so it worked out… Sum 41 sucks….they got no love for Denver they played every show but Denver.
But the most important bit: Dropkick Murphy’s was totally awesome!!!!!
I got a shiney new mechanical pencil so more comics soonish…
that’s all for now…maybe a poem or something laters. Not that anyone reads this blog…

News from me...
I ate today at the Casa of Paonia a small restaurant, which I stopped into while visiting in my hometown. I ordered the Unagi rice bowl which other then having small portions, over cooked eel, and two wonderful pieces of “glass!” it was also way over priced. After apologizing profusely, firing the guy who was responsible for the glass, and shutting down their sushi bar indefinitely we we’re given some crème Brule to make up for everything….this is my favorite kind of desert… and they butchered it… all in all I give their restaurant a solid “I’m-not-eating-there-again-anytime-soon”. also in case anyone was wondering glass is not fun to chew on.
Those who are wondering when I will be updating my comics again....the depends on how long Borderlands holds my attention...
Also I will try to update this pathetic blog a bit more

Surreality (Part 21)
From my point of view the girl wasn’t so bad, us humans have probably done far worse things than her race or at least equal to them, and I have never seen much point in stereotyping one person based on their race, but my guests were quite insistent about me locking her up and the Stupid ships computer seemed to agree with them so I had little choice. However, they could not stop me from taking her food and talking to her, which is exactly what I intended to do.
On the way to the holding cell, which my ships computer had failed to mention we had, Tamas filled me in on who the Draconians were and what wonderful things they had done for the aliens arms markets and how well they were controlling the universes expanding population, albeit not in a polite manner, in addition he explained the events that lead to his ship “encountering” my ship. Despite how interesting it was to talk to an alien that wasn’t turning me into a girl or throwing books at my head, I was drawn to the alien girl, so much so that at one point I missed an entire half of a dialog. I could not keep myself from watching her, she looked so on edge so ready to fight at any moment while at the same time she seemed completely calm, utterly depressed, and ready to cry, every so often I would catch the flicker of what could have been a smile deep in the chaotic obsidian darkness that was her eyes, those enigmatic eyes of hers never seemed to stop moving, she seemed to expect attack at anytime. Oddly enough all I could think of when I saw her was that she desperately needed a hug. This was not to say she was in anyway fragile in fact the way my new alien prisoner carried herself I gathered she was only “putting up” with her captors and could escape quite easily anytime she decided to, I chose not to mention this to my new guests, although I suspected that that Tamas fellow was fully aware of the tenuous hold he had on the alien girl.
By this time we had arrived at our intended destination and I was fed up not knowing, so I grabbed the alien girl’s arm, the next instant my back hit the ground and I was staring up into her the deep black pools of her eyes. Now since I was expecting her to react in such a manner, I was completely unperturbed and went on as if nothing and happened, “what is your name?” I inquired gasping for breath, “You see I can’t keep calling you “the alien girl” in my internal monologs so it is imperative that you tell me your name”. My complete lack of fear of the girl seemed to unsettle Tamas’s crew, confuse the alien girl, and amuse Tamas. “My name is Minaroro” the alien girl said so softly I almost didn’t hear her, her voice was that of a distrustful angel mixed with a hint of rage, the playfulness of a faery, the calm of the ocean before a storm engulfs you, and the sadness of ten thousand childless mothers. I had never met anyone like her, she was the stuff of myth and legends, while she was helping me to my feet I decided that I would stick close to this girl, she was special and I honestly wanted to give her a hug, but given the previous reaction I felt I should get to know her first before I went embracing her randomly.

A poem called Hocus focus
When you enter school your mind is placed on consignment
Capital is gained by completion of mandatory assignments
Used to test alignment to transitory subjects of study
Time to learn, ready?
The exam can not be completed using hocus pocus
Completion requires focus.
If you try your best and are still failing
This advice will put your mind at rest
Mark C throughout the test
Teachers use it more than any other letter
Sneak a peek to see if your neighbors work is better
If you can’t cheat off your buddy
Then perhaps you should have studied.

A poem called Strawberry
Here is a little Poem I just wrote, I shall update Surreality soon, till then enjoy this poem I think I will call;
STRAWBERRY
Madness chases away all sadness
Never have I encountered a depressed madman
Even their hair refuses to be oppressed instead questing for delight
of its own accord
Madness is it’s own reward
A soul in said present state
Cares not for public opinion as to whether they are loved or great
For them such things are not debated
Instead they wonder how purple is stated
Why apples are never congratulated
And whether beans should be educated
For madness is not a mental defect
Tis how our soul reflects
The fact that our imaginations cannot be suppressed
To a tyrants great distress
Madness shows we are blessed
Beware the corn as it gets undressed.

Surreality (Part 20)
“Hello, fancy running into you here” slipped out before I could think of anything better to say, I was also much too chipper when I said it, I have to quit hanging out with my ships AI so much. The alien girl looked confused and the man behind her chuckled,
The man extended his hand to me, “Hello my name is Tamas. Could you kindly ask your ship to leave mine alone?” This Tamas fellow reminded me of a mixture of characters from the silver screen, most of them being lovable scoundrels. “I am sorry, I had no idea it was this hungry, I thought it had just eaten” I replied as I shook his hand. My ship chose that moment to finish off its “meal” leaving their fifteen man crew and myself alone in the large empty room where their ship had once be lodged. “So… um, I guess you can stay at my place for a while” I said kind of awkwardly, what does one say to a person that just had their ship consumed. “You are very kind, I do hope your ship is quite full now miss…” I can honestly say that no one has ever kissed my hand before when introducing themselves and I must say it startled me a bit, “Oh how rude of me, my name is Robin Birk, nice to meet you” I introduced myself quickly so he did not notice my nervous reaction to his touch.
Tamas introduced the rest of his crew to me and then asked me if I had a brig to lock up the girl, whose name I still had not learned. When I inquired as to why she would need to be locked up, she looked nice enough to me; I was told she was a Draconian as if that was enough information. “What is a Draconian?” I asked when Tamas made it clear he wasn’t going to supply that information, the face of every one of them mirrored an identical expression of shock and disbelief, “How can you have not heard about the most ruthlessly brutal race in the galaxy?” one of Tamas’s crew finally asked after a fifteen minute long silence. “My race doesn’t get out much” I said in an off hand manner.

Surreality (Part 19)
CHAPTER 4
(5 days later somewhere else)
I found sleeping on my ship was more of a challenge then I thought it would be, instead of a bed my sleeping area consisted of a zero-G field with environmental homeostasis and the most annoying alarm clock I have ever encountered, I never thought I would miss the simple pleasure of snuggling under a nice warm blanket and playing Tetris, the field just wasn’t the same. Things got better this morning when I was privy to a wonderful treat; a small ship crashed in to the side of mine, it happened while I was on my way to the bridge with a cup of tea, which resulted in me burning my pinky toe on my left foot and my right ear in the most bizarre spill I have ever seen. I calmly asked the ships computer what was it that had just collided with us in such an unfriendly manner, “A small Privateer-class starship” the computer replied in a perky an overtly joyful voice, “Will they be hitting us again” I asked patiently, the ships computer had no ideas about proper decorum. “Nope, its engines were destroyed in the crash, looks like they did not intend to hit us” the computer answered sounding somewhat disappointed. Unsure of how to respond to the ships dejection about the lack of hostile intentions by the unexpected visitors I decided to remain silent and go inspect the damage.
By the time I got to the crash site the ship had already sealed the hole and re-pressurized the area using the other ship for raw material, much to the apparent dismay of the smaller ships crew. The entire crew, save one girl, was trying to stop my ships automated repair bots from “eating” their ship, sadly they were unsuccessful.
The girl had an exotic beauty she radiated in the “she is unaware of her beauty sort of way” she had bleach white hair that seemed to shimmer with purple and red. The girl must have heard my approach because she turned to look at me while dropping into a slightly defensive stance, her face caught me by surprise, she had the face of a porcelain doll except for the four scars on her face, one under each eye with the other two coming down from her forehead and stopping just above her eyebrows, not one of them was wider than an inch and they looked to be slow and deliberately cut into her. As odd as her scars were her eyes stood out far beyond anything else about her, she did not have any white in her eyes, they looked like large black bottomless pools that filled up her entire eyes.
Since I had already been spotted I figured I would venture over and introduce myself to my new guests and hope they weren’t to mad about their ship.
